Frequently asked questions
Is the 34C good for beginners?Yes — it is the razor most wet-shavers start with. The closed comb is forgiving and the head’s weight does the work, so you barely apply pressure.
What blades does it use?Any standard double-edge blade. No proprietary cartridges — a pack of blades costs a few dollars and lasts months.
How aggressive is it?Mild-to-medium. Efficient enough for a daily driver, gentle enough that it won’t punish a beginner or sensitive skin.
How do I care for it?Rinse and dry after each shave. With basic care a Merkur lasts decades — many are handed down.

Handcrafted in Solingen since 1896
Every 34C is machined in Germany’s historic steel town from a solid brass core, then finished in bright chrome. This is buy-it-for-life engineering — built to be handed down, not thrown away.

Weighted for a closer, kinder shave
At 78 grams, the head does the work — glide it over your skin with almost no pressure. Forgiving enough for your very first shave, refined enough to be your daily razor for the next thirty years.

Two pieces. Zero fuss.
Unscrew the handle, drop in any standard double-edge blade, twist shut. Rinse and dry after your shave — that’s the whole routine. No cartridges, no proprietary refills, pennies per shave.
